About Rudy
SO WHO IS RUDY BLAIR?  Tough question to answer and especially when I have to keep this short but let's try  anyway.  I've been in the Broadcasting Industry for almost 30 years in both Radio and Television.  23 of those years was with 680News as the Music & Entertainment Reporter.  During that time I've interviewed some of the biggest artists in music including Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lorde, Gordon Lightfoot, Tony Bennett and Tim McGraw to name a few.  I was there for many of these artists at the beginning of their careers and helped give them their first national interview spotlight including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Avril Lavigne and The Tenors.  I've estimated I've interviewed over 7,000 artist and that's a lot to remember.  I've covered several big events multiple times including The Grammy, Junos, Much Music Video Awards,The Canadian Screen Award and Canada's Walk Of Fame.  I've also been lucky winning several honours including 16 Radio-Television News Directors Association National and Regional Awards, The Harry Jerome Award, inducted into the Humber College Radio Broadcasting Hall Of Fame,The Vaughan Road Academy Hall of Fame and received an Honorary Degree from Humber College.  I've appeared on several televisions shows, reported for CityNews and had my own Rogers Television show, ON THE MIC WITH RUDY BLAIR where I not only interviewed many of the top music acts in the business but also new indie artists and helping them get exposure.  I could really keep going but there isn't room to put everything in on my career. What I can say is this website RUDY BLAIR ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA will be a continuation of everything I've done  in the past to help promote music acts of the future.  I'll also be interviewing and promoting upcoming events,chat with stars of the stage,movies,sports,politics and the every day person who has an interesting story.

One of the big events that take place during the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival https://www.tiff.net/  was the  2018 CFC Annual BBQ Fundraiser www.cfccreates.com/  (Sunday, September 9th, 2018) .    Not only was the CFC celebrating it’s 30th anniversary but also their new  five year partnership with Netflix in supporting Canadian talent.  Many Canadian stars and supporters were at the annual event including Actor/Comedian London Brown www.iamlondonbrown.com/best known for the HBO series Ballers  https://www.hbo.com/ballers  staring Dwayne  The Rock Johnson.  Rudy Blair Entertainment Media  rudyblairmedia.comChats with London about his acting career,  working with The Rock on Ballers, how he gives back to the community and an upcoming book.

The 2018 Polaris Music Prize https://polarismusicprize.ca/  was handed out last night (Monday September 17th, 2018) at The Carlu in Toronto. The PMP is an award for the best Canadian album of the year and it’s chosen by music critics. The winner receives 50 thousand dollars and the runner ups 3 thousand dollars each.  Past winners include Arcade Fire, Feist and Buffy Sainte-Marie.  This years top 10 short list nominees included Alvvays-Antisocialites, Daniel Caesar-Freudian, Hubert Lenoir-Darlène, Jean-Michel Blais-Dans ma main, Partner-In Search Of Lost Time, Pierre Kwenders-MAKANDA at the End of Space, the Beginning of Time, Snotty Nose Rez Kids-The Average Savage, U.S. Girls-In A Poem Unlimited and Weaves-Wide Open.  This years winner was Jeremy Dutcher (Wolastoq First Nation)  https://jeremydutcher.com/  for his album  Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa (Jeremy Dutcher (LIVE) | Polaris Music Prize Gala 2018  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FKXcScqGIw)  Rudy Blair  Entertainment Media rudyblairmedia.comwas at the press conference after the winner was announced.
