About Rudy
SO WHO IS RUDY BLAIR?  Tough question to answer and especially when I have to keep this short but let's try  anyway.  I've been in the Broadcasting Industry for almost 30 years in both Radio and Television.  23 of those years was with 680News as the Music & Entertainment Reporter.  During that time I've interviewed some of the biggest artists in music including Beyonce, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lorde, Gordon Lightfoot, Tony Bennett and Tim McGraw to name a few.  I was there for many of these artists at the beginning of their careers and helped give them their first national interview spotlight including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, Avril Lavigne and The Tenors.  I've estimated I've interviewed over 7,000 artist and that's a lot to remember.  I've covered several big events multiple times including The Grammy, Junos, Much Music Video Awards,The Canadian Screen Award and Canada's Walk Of Fame.  I've also been lucky winning several honours including 16 Radio-Television News Directors Association National and Regional Awards, The Harry Jerome Award, inducted into the Humber College Radio Broadcasting Hall Of Fame,The Vaughan Road Academy Hall of Fame and received an Honorary Degree from Humber College.  I've appeared on several televisions shows, reported for CityNews and had my own Rogers Television show, ON THE MIC WITH RUDY BLAIR where I not only interviewed many of the top music acts in the business but also new indie artists and helping them get exposure.  I could really keep going but there isn't room to put everything in on my career. What I can say is this website RUDY BLAIR ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA will be a continuation of everything I've done  in the past to help promote music acts of the future.  I'll also be interviewing and promoting upcoming events,chat with stars of the stage,movies,sports,politics and the every day person who has an interesting story.

The winner of the prestigious ninth annual SiriusXM https://www.siriusxm.ca Top Comic competition was announced (Thursday  September 26th, 2019) and it was  Adam Christie of Cambridge  https://twitter.com/theadamchristie?lang=en who became this years winner.   Along with receiving the coveted Top Comic title, Christie took home the grand prize of $25,000; guaranteed performances at four Just For Laughs festivals – JFL Sydney (Australia), JFL42 (Toronto), JFL NorthWest (Vancouver) and Just for Laughs Montreal – and inclusion in a JFL television taping.   Rudy Blair Entertainment Media rudyblairmedia.com  speaks with Adam about winning the TC competition,  his career in comedy including  working as a television writer, and actor for many acclaimed shows, including  CBC’s Baroness Von Sketch Show and Schitt’s Creek and his new comedy album “General Anxiety Disorder”.

Last night(Thursday October 17th, 2019) was the 3rd elimination of the CBC series Battle Of The Blades  Season 5  https://www.cbc.ca/television/battleoftheblades .  Battle Of The Blades  combines athletes from two of Canada’s favourite sports, figure skating and hockey as they pair up in a live, high-stakes figure skating competition for the charity of their choice.  The Hockey Players participating are  Amanda Kessel, Brian McGrattan, Bruno Gervais, Colton Orr. P.J Stock, Natalie Spooner & Shelden Kennedy.  The Ice Skaters are Amanda Evora, Andrew Poje, Ekaterina Gordeeva, Eric Radford, Kaitlyn Weaver, Vanessa  James and  Violetta Afanasieva  (Eric Radford & Amanda Kessel and Vanessa James & Brian McGrattan are no longer in the competition).  Hockey Night In Canada’s Ron MacLean returned as host and four-time Canadian and four-time World champion figure skater Kurt Browning was also back  as head judge. Also on the guest judging pane this week were former NHL player Colby Armstrong  and two-time world champion, 2018 Olympic gold medallist in the team event , Canadian pair skater with partner Eric Radford, Meagan Duhamel .
