Each year during the Juno Awards, MusiCounts  https://musicounts.ca/en/   ( a charity supplies instruments to schools & communities across Canada) recognizes a Canadian music teacher who inspires and has an impact on students with music education. The winner receives $10,000 cash donation towards their school music program  as well as a statuette based on the JUNO Award design.  This years nominees are:

• Jewel Casselman – Lakewood School, Winnipeg, MB
• Darren Hamilton – David Suzuki Secondary School, Brampton, ON
• Sophie Jalbert – Йcole Roy-Joly, Riviиre-du-Loup, QC
• Kelly Stronach – Mitchell Woods Public School, Guelph, ON
• Janell Toews – Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy, Canmore, AB
