When you think about Yorkville expensive condos,chic restaurants and hi-end fashion shops come to mind. But back in the 1960’s and 70’s Yorkville was a place where some of Canada’s biggest recording artists got their start. Legends including Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, The Guess Who, Lighthouse, Bruce Cockburn, Murray McLauchlan and Dan Hill and many international artists including Elton John, Cat Stevens and Fleetwood Mac were all part of the Yorkville scene. To celebrate that special time, Heritage Toronto unveiled three new plaques celebrating Yorkville’s vibrant & diverse music scene of that time.
