One of the most highly anticipated dramas in the new season New Amsterdam https://www.globaltv.com/newamsterdam/   debuts tonight(Tuesday September 25th, 2018) at 10pm on Global Television https://www.globaltv.com/ .   The medical drama follows  Dr. Max Goodwin(played by Actor Ryan Eggold) who becomes the new medical director at New Amsterdam and shakes up the old ways to a new system…patience come first before the bureaucracy .  Actor Jocko Sims https://www.instagram.com/jockosims/?hl=en who plays Dr. Floyd Reynolds was in Toronto recently to promote the new series and told me the trailer that everyone sees when Dr. Renolds fires the whole cardiac surgery department to later rehiring his character to be in charge of the csd.    He adds healthcare in America is very scary and this show will present the flaws in it and how it effects people and hospital staff as well.  There will be some personal drama played out as well as his character is having a relationship with anther college and at some point, will have to make a decision about it.  New Amsterdam is based on a book called Twelve Patients:Life & Death of Bellevue Hospital written by Doctor Eric Manheimer and his experiences working at the oldest public hospital in America.  Jacko also met Dr Norma Keller who is Chief of Cardiology at NYC Health and  Hospitals/Bellevue and spoke with her on her real life challenges working at the hospital.  He adds this show will be more about the patients and the broken system before the drama of the doctors.  It’s all about patience first.
