Story on “Ain’t Too Proud” at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre(Mirvish)

One of the most sought after stage shows to see this season is ”Ain’t Too Proud-The Life And Times Of The Temptations  (Official trailer: Ain’t Too Proud  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaOxTvyFzOY   ) .   The story is about what happened before and after  the legendary Motown quintet from Detroit became the biggest R&B group of all time.  Ain’t To Proud  is Directed by two time Tony award winner Des McAnuff and the 2015 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer winner, Sergio Trujillo and both are from Toronto.  Des McAnuff revealed to an audience recently at the Mirvish preview season announcement in September that the last living original member of the Temptations, Ottis Williams, asked him if he would take on their story adding “When the surviving member of the classic Temptations asks you to do something, your’e going to do it…he’s also 6’4!”  Sergio Trujillo said “The biggest thing about the Temptations is their choreography, the way they move and up until then no one moved the way they moved.  For me to be the Choreographer for this show was a daunting task…but very excited to share this show with Toronto. For two Torontonians bringing this show to this town is very important”.   Not only will you experience their classic dance moves but also their unforgettable hit songs including My Girl, Poppa Was A Rolling Stone and Ain’t Too Proud Too Beg.  Ain’t Too Proud” will be making it’s Broadway premier in March of 2019.  Des also mentioned that “The Temptations have stayed alive through thick and thin through turbulent time during the 60’s and they really did become a brotherhood.”   Ain’t Too Proud-The Life And Times Of The Temptations  www.mirvish.com/‎   runs from October 11th-November 17th at the Princess of Wales Theatre (300 King Street West, Toronto ON, M5V 1J2).
