Had the pleasure of attending the opening/media night for the musical comedy Tell Tale Harbour(Mirvish)  https://www.mirvish.com/shows/tell-tale-harbour  at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre (260 King St West).  A little background,  this show is based on a book by multi Juno award nominee and  founding member of the Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle(collaborated with Adam Brazier, and Ed Riche). It’s also  based on the 2013 Canadian comedy film The Grand Seduction by Ken Scott and Michael.  The music/lyrics were written by Alan Doyle and Bob Foster and Doyle stars in this show.  The plot centres around a small, struggling Atlantic Canadian town that needs a full-time doctor to attract a new frozen french fry factory, its only hope for employment. The townspeople, must work together to convince the visiting doctor to stay permanently by using ‘unusual’ methods. This is one of the most fun and entertaining comedy musicals I’ve seen in years.  The cast is great, the music is celtic fun and the story VERY entertaining.  This show is exactly what we all need to experience.  With the world in such kayos, this musical will help you forget about your problems and leave you with a nice, warm feeling (and we can all use that these days).  I give Tell Tale Harbour(Mirvish) 4 stars out of 5.   Tell Tale Harbour(Mirvish) (running time 2 hours 10 minutes, includes intermission) runs from September 23 – November 2, 2025.
