The 1st of two nights of the Juno awards   https://junoawards.ca   took place Saturday March 28th, 2026 at Hamilton’s Convention Centre. more than 40 awards were handed out at the Juno Award Gala.  The night big winner was  Pop artist Tate McRae, who won album of the year, artist of the year, single of the year and pop album of the year. Aysanabee, was a double winner Contemporary Indigenous artist of the year and Alternative album of the year, while Daniel Caesar received songwriter of the year and the first Latin music recording of the year went to Alex Cuba.  Rudy Blair Entertainment Media rudyblairmedia.comwas in the press room to speaks with several winner including Aysanabee – Alternative album of the year “Edge of the Earth”,  Sarah McLachlan – Adult contemporary album of the year “Better Broken”, Debby Friday – Dance recording of the year “Bet On Me”, Èbony – Electronic album of the year “Shades of Meridian”, Tobi, Saukrates and Jully Black – Rap single of the year “Who’s Driving You?”, Melanie Fiona – Traditional R&B/soul recording of the year “Say Yes”, Maestro Fresh Wes – Children’s album of the year “Maestro Fresh Wes Presents: Young Maestro “Rhyme Travellers – Back to the Time Machine,” Young Maestro”, Aysanabee – Contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year & Alternative album of the year “Edge of the Earth” and  Billy Talent – Humanitarian Award for their long-standing philanthropy, including support for War Child, Kids Help Phone, and MS Canada.
