Review: A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Mirvish)

Sunday May 3rd, 2026

I attended opening night of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Mirvish)  https://www.mirvish.com/shows/a-beautiful-noise-the-neil-diamond-musical at Toronto’s  Princess of Wales Theatre,  300 King Street West.   The multi 2023 Chita Rivera Award winning  jukebox musical is based on the music by Neil Diamond as he tells his story to a psychiatrist where he struggles knowing  because of his advanced age, can  no longer perform due to his Parkinson’s diagnosis.  If you’re a fan of Neil Diamond then you will enjoy this especially with 25 of his greatest hits including “America”, “Forever in Blue Jeans”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and  “Song Sung Blue”.   There’s also revealing moments about his past from his reluctance to being a stage performer , his 1st record deal that could have ended his life, his marriages and the inspiration behind his biggest hit “Sweet Caroline”. The actor who makes this 2 hours 30 minutes (includes intermission) show worth seeing is Nick Fradiani  https://www.instagram.com/nickfradiani/  who looks and sounds like a young Neil Diamond.   A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Mirvish)  is about nostalgia, reminding us what a great songwriter and performance sacrificed for his unforgettable  music.  I give  A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Mirvish) 3 and a half  stars out of 5.   A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical (Mirvish) runs  April 28 – June 7, 2026.
