Had the pleasure of attending the opening/media night for the outrageous musical comedy Beetlejuice :The Musical, The Musical, The Musical(Mirvish) https://www.mirvish.com/shows/beetlejuice    at Toronto’s CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre(244 Victoria Street)  A little background,  Beetlejuice is of course based on the 1988 film with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect.  The story is similar to the film but different.  A young girl who’s mother has passed away moves into a house with her father and “therapist”.  She discovers the house is haunted by a very nice couple who are trying to coup with their own death. The girl wants very much to see her mother once again and the only entity  who she feels can help he is the mischievous, obnoxious, chaotic, “bio-exorcist” trickster….Beetlejuice.  This stage show screams fun and laughter from the high energy songs to the amazing special effects to the blue humour, Beetlejuice is everything fans can expect from this 2 hours 35 minutes (includes intermission) spectacle.  And the lead, Justin Collette who plays Beetlejuice is perfect for this roll.  What makes this show even more fun was seeing audience members dressed up like their favourite characters.  Beetlejuice :The Musical, The Musical, The Musical(Mirvish) is two hours of laughter and amusement for the whole family(expect some of the racy jokes would go over their heads).  I give Beetlejuice :The Musical, The Musical, The Musical(Mirvish 4 out of 5 stars.  Beetlejuice :The Musical, The Musical, The Musical(Mirvish) runs June 3 – July 19, 2025.
