Had the opportunity to attend media night for the of the 10 time Tony Award winning musical, Moulin Rouge! The Musical https://www.mirvish.com/shows/moulin-rouge (Mirvish https://www.mirvish.com ) at Toronto’s CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre 244 Victoria St . A little bit of background, this jukebox musical (and book by John Logan) is based on the 2001 film. The story is about a young composer, who falls in love with cabaret actress who is the star(and sex worker) of the “Moulin Rouge” nightclub in Paris France. Their future together, friends and even the Moulin Rouge is in jeopardy because of a “shady deal”, Thats all I’ll say about that because I don’t want to ruin it for you. But it would be very hard to disappoint because Moulin Rouge! The Musical is visually and musically extremely entertaining. Yes there are a lot of sexy actors/actresses and what they are wearing will give your temperature a bit of a rise, but the plot moves very quickly for a two and a half hour show. But what I enjoyed most where the choices of songs used. They are a perfect combination to help elevate the show. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is sensually sensational and a great evening of entertainment. I give Moulin Rouge! The Musical 3 and a half stars out of 5. Moulin Rouge! The Musical! runs until January 12, 2025.
