Veld Music Festival 2016 Review

Veld Music Festival returned for it’s fifth year at Toronto’s Downsview Park.  Once again over 50 thousand ravers were there to see some of the biggest international and local dj’s spinning their magic.  They included The Chainsmokers, Yellow Claw,Steve Aoki, Dzeko & Torres, and Deadmau5.  I’ve been lucky enough to have gone every year to watch this event grow and it has. The choice of dj’s always improves, but also the landscape. There are so many things that partiers can do, including checking out other dj stages(the Main stage is the large stage for headliners) large slides, food and shop venders, and even a Ferris Wheel.  There were lot’s of water stations provided and a hell of a lot of security and emergency crews visible and available.     The two things that always impress me tho most are 1) The VIP section that has a massive stage or platform where you can stand above the crowed  and get a good view of the main stage directly in front of you.  2)  The Main Dj stage  it’s HUGE and provides it’s own light show and special effects.  I was there just on Saturday July 30th to check out some of the earlier dj’s including Steve Aoki who, once he hit the stage had more that half the partiers who were there in the park migrated over to see and hear him.  He also had a surprise guest performer Toronto’s Shaun Frank who collaborated on Aoki’s new single “Dope Girlz”.  But fans who stuck around later got to see Canadian Deadmou5 perform with his new light stage show that from the pics I saw looked impressive.  And the ravers?  Yes sometimes you did see a few being taken to be looked after by the emergency crew members but overall the people I was around were there to meet people and have a good time.  Looking forward to next year.
