Will & Grace returns for new season on Global Television

Thursday September 28th,2017

September 21, 1998, Bill Clinton was US President and dealing with the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Jean Chrétien  was the Canadian Prime Minister, US Olympic track star Florence Griffith Joyner passed away at the age of 38, one of the days big hits was I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith . And a groundbreaking television comedy called “Will & Grace” staring Canadian  Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally & Sean Hayes would debut on NBC and last for eight seasons.    Over a decade later Donald Trump has the presidency, Justin Trudeau is the new leader of Canada, Playboy icon Hugh Hephner passed away, Taylor Swifts Look What You Made Me Do is getting a lot of play on radio…and debuting tonight is the “return” of “Will & Grace” with the original cast including Eric McCormack.  Eric was recently in Toronto to talk about the show and says what brought them back was the political video they last September on the 2016 US Election. They never had plans to do a reunion show, event thought fans wanted it. But when they came together to shoot their short video, everything felt right and everyone agreed they could do it again but an updated version of W&G.  When I asked Eric if the show would continue with having guest stars appear like they did 10 years ago he said no and that was something he didn’t want.  He mentioned how the critics turned on  them calling them “The Love Boat” because they had so many stars appearing including Madonna, Jennifer Lopez,Woody Harrelson and Alec Baldwin.  He adds the show will look the same but it’s time to re define W&G for 2017.  Will & Grace is on at 9pm on Global Television  http://tinyurl.com/kl3zq43 .        https://www.globaltv.com/willandgrace/
