Each year during the Juno Awards, MusiCounts   https://musicounts.ca/en/   ( a charity supplies instruments to schools & communities across Canada) recognizes a Canadian music teacher who inspires and has an impact on students with music education. The winner receives $10,000 cash donation towards their school music program  as well as a statuette based on the JUNO Award design.  This years nominees are:

• Drew Van Allen – Nakoda Elementary School – Mînî Thnî, AB (formerly Morley)
• Emily Dominey – Dundas Valley Secondary School – Hamilton, ON
• Greg Chomut – Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School – Thunder Bay, ON
• Jeannie Hunter – Nepean High School – Ottawa, ON
• Robert Colbourne – Holy Heart of Mary Regional High School – St. John’s, NL
